Graphic Chemical Predictor Circular Slide Rule - 1958 Dyna-Slide Company Chemist. Here is a rare Graphic Chemical Predictor circular slide rule. This device deals with oxidation-reduction equations, and is constructed of two disks of thin plastic with clear plastic cursor lines and metal center. It is in good condition showing normal signs of age and storage, including dirt and discoloration.

The sliderule has a diameter of approximately 8 1/8 inches. The directions are printed on the reverse side. Some of the printing on the back: HOW TO OPERATE THE Graphic CHEMICAL PREDICTOR The CHEMICAL PREDICTOR consists of two disks--the bottom contains 100 oxidation equations and the top contains 100 reduction equations. When an oxidation equation on the bottom disk is aligned with a reduction equation on the top disk, the result is an ionic equation representing an oxidation-reduction reaction. PREDICTING CHEMICAL REACTIONS An electromotive potential is assigned to all oxidation and reduction reactions.

To determine whether or not a specific chemical reaction, involving oxidation and reduction, will occur, align the oxidation equation with the reduction equation and algebraically add the two potentials directly following the equation (1)... BALANCING CHEMICAL EQUATIONS Once both the oxidation and reduction equations are aligned on the CHEMICAL PREDICTOR, it is a simple matter to balance the equation...
