Hemmi 74 bamboo 6 imperial Reitz slide rule Made c. 1966 + instructions & wallet
This offer is for ONE only'Sun Hemmi. There are 2 versions of this rule and this is the much rarer imperial version with a 5 measure on the top beveled edge. I did have the other version, which again is a 6 (15 cm) rule, but with a 14 cm measure on the edge. Although these were manufactured in the 1960's I have various dates of 6 manufacture, one being'QJ', so October 1966 and some metric (the metric version is shown in my other listing) from 1969 and 1970, making most of the imperial rules over 50 years old.
I have classed them as new, because they have not been used and have been sealed away since manufacture. I have a small quantity of these slide rules, which are in their original packaging, each with a 40 page instruction book (size 5 x 7), leather case and the slide rule which is complete with its cursor, is still in its sealed polythene bag.
The picture shows an example in various stages of undress (I also have an unsealed spare, which I used to take some of the pictures). The reverse of the slide (not shown) has S, S&T and T scales. The leather wallet is as fresh as the day it was made and the slide rule itself is also faultless, as it has been sealed in polythene. There is some discolouration on the right hand side of the first page of some of the instruction leaflets and a little on the cover. This has been caused by both its age and the leather being in direct contact with the booklet for over 50 years.
The boxes of this imperial version have white end labels, whereas the metric version has green end labels. This item is rare and in this condition, is extremely rare.
