VINTAGE FABER CASTELL NOVO BIPLEX SLIDE RULE 2/83 N Made In Germany BOX
D E S C R I P T I O N. This rule also has expanded W square root scales, for both the square root of x and 10x, and raised rubber bumpers to prevent cursor scraping, and to give the rule grip on a desktop. The rule also has finger-grip areas on the slide for better movement. Body is fully alignable at the aluminum endpieces. The rule was packaged in a green leather case with an accessory scale and manual in spanish. Rule is self documenting on right hand side for all scales. A very powerful and beautifully made log log rule, equal to the K+E 4181-3, Deci-lon and Post versalog 1460, if not far better. Has pythagorean scale (P), expanded square scales, folded scales and scale over-ranges.
This is the full size enhanced version of the 62/83(N) pocket rule. Interestingly, this rule also appears under the FC label marked. The same designation as the rule variant produced for Dietzgen. There is no obvious difference between the rules marked with the different names, and the model numbers remained the same.
There are known to be some regional differences in models, mainly with regard to scale gauge points and cursor line conversions to match metric/imperial units. (30 scales, 11 cursor lines). T1, T2, K, A, DF.
